North Laine, Brighton

Brighton is a coastal city in Sussex located on the south coast of England. For years, visitors have been drawn to the city by the usual seaside attractions and the reputation it has as a vibrant, diverse and entertaining destination.

Both Quadrophenia and Brighton Rock have immortalised the city in film and literature.

The numerous districts make the city what it is, attracting people from all walks of life and creating a perfect canvas for street photography.

North Laine is my favourite area. Filled with independent shops, cafes, pubs and open air street markets it has a lively, friendly and welcoming vibe.

I have been documenting life in North Laine for several years and although filled with colour, it lends itself to my chosen black and white style.
