Coffee Shop Scenes

Of the many things I have missed during the Covid-19 lockdowns, the simple pleasure of sitting in a coffee shop is high on my list.

As both a coffee lover and a street photographer, it is inevitable that I always end up in a coffee shop when I take a break from shooting on the streets. Apart from the need for a caffeine intake and a rest, there is also the bonus that coffee shops often provide a great location for people watching.

Whilst looking through by catalog last year it was easy to see a project coming together and since then I have made a point of adding to my portfolio of coffee shop moments at every opportunity. I am sure this will be an enduring project.

Taking advantage of the available light, I look for candid portraits of customers relaxing, meeting friends and working, as well as the decor and style of the individual shops.

No matter where I am in the world, the allure of the coffee shop is always there. Below is a selection of photos from around the world.
